KUS Marine Analog Ammeter / Current Meter 52 mm – Precise Monitoring of Charging Current & Consumption
Keep a close eye on the actual energy flow on board at all times! The analog KUS ammeter shows you in real time whether current is flowing into your batteries (charging via the alternator, solar system, or charger) or whether your onboard loads are drawing more energy than is being supplied (discharge). An extremely important diagnostic tool for preventing gradual battery drain during cruises in a timely manner.
The round gauge features the standardmounting diameter of 52 mm (2 1/16") and integrates perfectly into existing dashboards. The polished bezel, made of high-purity AISI 316 stainless steel (NIRO), withstands the harsh, salty sea air in the cockpit over the long term.
⚠️ Important note regarding connection (shunt / measuring resistor required):
To safely measure the high currents in the onboard electrical system, KUS ammeters operate via an external control signal (75 mV characteristic curve).
Please note: A suitable external shunt (measuring resistor) is absolutely essential for operating this instrument. It is installed in the main circuit and supplies the precise measurement signal to the 52mm display in the cockpit, eliminating the need to run thick, inflexible battery cables to the helm station.
Advantages & Technical Highlights at a Glance:
- Zero-Center Scaling: Clear display of current flow in both directions (e.g., from -50A discharge to +50A charge, or up to -80A / +80A for larger systems).
- 100% Waterproof (IP67): The front of the dial is completely dust- and waterproof according to IP67. The double-layered, reinforced anti-fog glass ensures a clear view even on humid days in the harbor.
- Universal Power Supply: Can be used directly in 12-volt and 24-volt onboard systems without any restrictions.
- Adjustable Backlighting: When wiring, you can flexibly choose between bright red or yellow LED lighting —to match the look of the rest of your cockpit.
- Simple multi-plug connection system: The package includes the matching locking connector with open cable ends for a quick and completely vibration-resistant installation.
🛠️ Accessory tip from Tenten-Boats:
An ammeter provides the perfect overview of your onboard electrical system when combined with the matching KUS analog voltmeter/battery gauge. While the voltmeter measures voltage, the ammeter shows you the actual current flow. You can find both gauges in the same design in our shop.
